A LITTLE CURIOSITY. A LOT OF CARE.

There’s more than one way to be qualified.

We’re a directory of things you can earn, obtain, register, or become. Some can change your career. Others make a very good dinner-party story.

What belongs here?

Professional certifications, public qualifications, completion certificates, skill badges, memberships, honorary titles, ordinations, animal adoptions, and symbolic registrations. Each has a different purpose. We want to help you understand that purpose before you spend your time or money.

Our current collection contains 336 published offerings. The catalog is independently researched and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the organizations listed.

How we research

  1. Discover candidates through provider catalogs, institutional websites, and community suggestions.
  2. Find a primary source from the organization that issues or sells the offering.
  3. Check what can actually be obtained, its cost model, and any documented requirements.
  4. Write an original description and record the source and review date.
  5. Validate the record before publishing. Uncertain or inaccessible offerings stay outside the published catalog.

Some primary catalogs describe several distinct offerings on one page. We retain that shared evidence and link to a more specific application page where verified. We do not run a continuous crawler; the catalog is reviewed in research batches.

Verified doesn’t mean accredited

“Verified” means that the claims described in our verification notes have supporting primary-source evidence. It is not a promise that every detail is known, a guarantee of current availability, or an independent endorsement of an issuer.

ClassificationWhat it means here
Government credentialIssued or administered under a public authority; its jurisdiction matters.
Professional certificationA profession-specific assessment or credential from an established industry issuer. Recognition depends on the employer and field.
Accredited qualificationSpecific accreditation evidence is required. An institution’s reputation alone does not establish accreditation.
Course completionThe issuer records successful participation or completion; this is not automatically a professional license.
Private credentialA private organization’s assessment, badge, membership, or similar recognition.
Commercial registrationA seller’s private register or product. It does not establish public authority.
Honorary recognitionCeremonial or religious recognition whose legal effect may be limited or jurisdiction-specific.
Novelty & symbolicA keepsake, symbolic act, or fun certificate. Enjoy it for what it is.

Some distinctions worth making

Commercial star-naming services maintain private records. Buying a package does not establish an official astronomical name. Novelty lordship packages do not establish legally recognized nobility. An online ordination does not automatically authorize wedding officiation everywhere. A symbolic wildlife adoption supports conservation; it does not transfer ownership of an animal.

Each listing explains its own limits and points you to the provider’s terms. Before pursuing a regulated qualification, check the authority responsible for the place you intend to use it.

Free means the credential, too

A free course with a paid certificate is labeled “free learning · paid credential,” or otherwise described as a mixed-cost offering. Unknown prices stay unknown. We keep native currencies and compare paid prices only within your selected currency; we do not estimate exchange rates.

Unknown is useful information

We don’t invent durations, eligibility, certificate formats, or requirements to fill blank fields. Online delivery does not establish worldwide availability. Country and duration filters include only confirmed matches. The last review date helps you judge how recently a source was checked.

A note on our editorial scores

Unusualness and practical usefulness are subjective scores from 1 to 5. They reflect our editorial judgment about how unexpected an offering is and how directly it might apply to work or everyday life. They are not user reviews, popularity measurements, or verified outcomes. “Featured” means an editorial selection.

Corrections and upkeep

Providers change their offerings and prices. Always confirm the current terms before applying or paying. The repository includes the evidence, schema, and research workflow so maintainers can correct, archive, or expand the collection. A claim with insufficient evidence should be corrected or removed from publication.
